Menggarap novel Satin Merah menyisakan secarik catatan bagi saya. Kalau Kakak tahu cerita novel ini (saya yakin belum karena baru akan terbit), tentu tahu ada beberapa bagian yang bercerita tentang Sastra Sunda, sesuatu yang tidak saya pahami betul.

Be Famous First or Just Write?
There are always good options for the famous. As a well-known person, you could overcome many writer’s problems in no time, such as promotion or marketing stuffs. Not to mention your money, you surely had influence to magnetize people into your books, whether it is your own crafting or by a ghostwriter.
Giving Names to Fictional Characters
If you are going to have a baby, I bet you are busy to think about its name. Simply because a name is a prayer, an image. Wrong in naming, wrong in the future. Ask any brand strategist, ask any parent. Giving names to the fictional characters too.
If you really don’t have any idea, try to look up the dictionary, White Pages, visit some naming websites, or other fictions. I am quite surprised that these days there are authors who still have a problem in naming her heroes.
The Strongest Reason to Write
One always has a reason behind thing she does. So do the writers when write. I myself write simply because I want to write. That’s all. You may say, it’s a shallow reason. But I think otherwise. Let me use the love analog. If a woman ask her man, “Why do you love me?”, and he reply, “Because you’re gorgeous, rich, smart,” do you believe that’s a good answer?
