Take A Look Around for Writing Inspiration

Waiting for inspiration

Pretty often, we the writers are attacked by a so-called laziness virus. Doing research for the next story for a time bores us too. It’s stressful! How to make a story without feel it as a burden? If it’s your question (and was mine), here the dos list I suggest:

Go out. Take adventure beyond the routines. Like Jean-Mari Gustave Le Clézio, the 2008’s Nobel Prizewinner in the field of literature, did. It will give you things to write.
Listen to other’s story. You will amaze how your ordinary friends have quite interesting experience. At least, it can be a trigger for your work.
You love the songs? Ok. Listen to the lyrics, not merely the music. Sometime it’s inspiring enough as a starting point.
Or, just take a look around you. Believe it or not, every object near you has a meaning. You just need to be more critical and imaginative about objects that used to be insignificant to you.

In Cicalengka-Bandung Train

The economy class train is always an opera to me. Many things to see here. And this is a characteristic of Indonesian trains, I think. I used to go from Cicalengka Town to Bandung City, and vice versa. From Cicalengka Station, I took the economy train called KRD Ekonomi.

I Saw a Rainbow at Watu Ondo

The sky was so bright, as if it blessed us to go vacation. Iksan, Imey and I, we took our holiday. The destination was fixed. Mojokerto, East Java Province. There’s only two famous places at that regency: Trowulan or Pacet. Iksan had been at Trowulan, so we chose Pacet. Many interesting sites there, actually. Unfortunately, we visited only Watu Ondo waterfall due to limited time.

Watu Ondo, in Javanese term, means stone that forms stairway. Before the Malang-Mojokerto bridge was built, paths around the waterfall was a piled by stones, like stairs. That is way the natives called this place Watu Ondo.
