Warung Fiksi (Wufi) is a professional organization of creative writing. It produces the works and stories that set in Indonesia. That’s why this blog, WarungFiksi.net a.k.a. WufiNet (formerly there), becomes a place where everybody can share the experience about Indonesian cultures, natures, and creatures. There are plenty things can be dug of Indonesia. Did you know that:

  • The komodo monster, world largest carnivore lizard that frequently exposed by Hollywood cineastes, is Indonesian native dragon.
  • Indonesian jungle is occupied by the pygmy tarsiers, the smallest primate in the world. Its size is as tiny as a mouse.
  • Deep in the Indonesian forest, Titan Arum and Rafflesia arnoldii, two species of biggest flower in this planet, grow.
  • Borobudur in Central Java is the greatest Buddhist temple in the world.
  • Indonesia has about 17,500 islands with 300 ethnics inside whose people speak in 750 local languages. Each of them keeps its sceneries, cultural mysteries, and political intrigues.
  • And many other interesting facts behind Indonesia.

But beside talks about culture, nature and creature of Indonesia, Wufi analyzes some of Indonesian fictions, the trends, and things related with motivation of writing. Brief, through this blog Wufi is making a resource for writers like itself. Here are men behind Warung Fiksi:

BrahmBrahmanto Anindito is a Communication Studies scholar of Airlangga University. Some media have published his articles and fictions, e.g. Intisari, Hai, Cinemags, Mossaik, Nurul Hayat, Clea, Jawa Pos, Surya, Bangka Pos, Padang Ekspres, Radar Bojonegoro, etc. Brahm has nationally published thriller novels too, i.e. Semanyun Senyuman Mahasiswa (Lulu), Pemuja Oksigen (Jaring Pena), Satin Merah (GagasMedia), Rahasia Sunyi (GagasMedia), Tiga Sandera Terakhir (Noura Books), and Revival of Queen Leyak (BnK). In 2002, Brahm won the first place of The Scientific Writing Competition for University Students held by Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta. In 2003, Korean Embassy and Indonesian National Education Service picked him as third winner of The Essay Writing Competition about Korea. Then in 2009, Kompas chose him as first winner of The #IndonesiaUnite Blogger Competition. In 2012, Deutsche Welle invited and fully funded him to go to DW Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany, as a blogger. Brahm was a journalist in a lifestyle magazine, an editor in a business magazine, a copywriter in an integrated marketing communication company,  and now is a freelance writer. RoriMochammad Asrori is an alumnus of Indonesian Literature Study. He is first winner of The Short Story Writing Competition 2003 which held by State University of Surabaya, third winner of The Writing Contest of East Java’s Student 2004, first winner of The Essay Writing Contest and also second winner of The Poetry Writing Contest in Surabaya Anniversary 2005 event, additional winner of The Youth Theater Script’s Writing Competition 2008 which held by Taman Budaya Jatim. Several publisher and media have published his works, e.g. Widyawara, Sesasi, Gema, Surya, Kompas, Jawa Pos, Radar Surabaya, Radar Mojokerto, etc. He is now teaching Indonesian Language at a state high school. Rori’s published book is Pengarung Bahu (Lulu 2010), Tiga Postur Kota (MNC 2015), dan Jam Beker di Kepala Laki-laki (MNC 2016).


IksanIhsan Maulana got a master degree in UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. He is a researcher and was an activist. Iksan is second winner of The Scientific Writing Competition 1999 which held by Islamic-school Bata-bata, second winner of The Pamekasan Scientific Writing Contest 2000, first winner of The Surabaya Scientific Writing Competition 2003, second nominee of The Ahmad Wahid Award 2005 which held by Freedom Institute, JIL and Forum Mahasiswa Ciputat. Held a Doctoral Degree, Iksan is now a university lecturer.


RieRie Yanti is the bachelor of Padjadjaran University’s French Literature Study who has started writing since her childhood. She produced some short stories and poetries. Graduated from the university, Rie decided to be a writer. She loves writing about stuffs, animals and small things that happen in her life. Rie have published her books, which are Satin Merah (GagasMedia 2010), Bukan Manusia (Lulu 2011), and Precious Time (Nusa Project 2017). You can also read her articles in her blog.

    Lama, lama sekali ga pernah mengunjungi Warung ini. Selepas bekerja dan mengurus usaha, entah mengapa kok pengen datang ke warung ini. Sambil menyeruput Jus Melon, saya menikmati hidangan di warung ini. Oh my God, my english is not good. Tapi, kata Bondan Winarno, “Maknyus!”.Kalo kata Benu Boelu,”Enak-enak pemirsa, markotop!”. Sajiannya, “Mmmm….yummi!”, kata Si Farah.

    Oke lah kalo begitu, saya sudah kenyang. Besok, tak ke warung ini lagi untuk menyantap menu yang lain.

    Hahahaha…saya dah di warung ini lagi. Mmmm…mau menikmati apa, jadi bingung, menunya banyak sih.

    Jangan ditanya konsisten atau tidak, pasti sudah tahu jawabannya, eng ing eng.

    Berbagai usaha telah dijalani dan dilalui, tak semudah yang dibayangkan, dan ditutup. Akhirnya, dibukalah MilzamMie, alhamdulillah sudah akan membuka cabang. Kapan-kapan dolan ke MilzamMie.

    Pekerjaan, meneruskan jejak almarhum, jadi tidak usah disebutkan nama perusahaannya, pasti sudah tahu.

    Mmmm….sudah kenyang nih, lagi program diet. Kapan-kapan tak dolan kesini lagi.
